New Results from Diabetes Surveillance in Germany

The second issue of the Journal of Health Monitoring 2/2019 – New results from diabetes surveillance in Germany – was published in June 2019.

Issue 2/2019 of the Journal of Health Monitoring published the latest results from National Diabetes Surveillance. The first article deals with the issue of whether social inequality among adults with diabetes has risen over time in Germany. This is followed by an article discussing the available data for type 1 diabetes in adults and type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents and also examines how existing data gaps in this area can be closed. The next article analyses the relevance of secondary data for diabetes surveillance in Germany as well as suitable data sources. A further article presents the results of a health reporting study on diabetes in international comparison. These findings are to be used to develop a strategy to promptly process and provide data from national diabetes surveillance to various relevant groups. Finally, issue 2/2019 of the Journal of Health Monitoring also contains a contribution that discusses the selection and definition of indicators for public health monitoring of health in old age.
