Contextual factors

In addition to individual and behavioural factors, contextual factors also play an important role in the prevention of type 2 diabetes. As part of the primary preventions, context factors include living, working, and environmental conditions, but also health policy-related measures, which can impact the risk for developing type 2 diabetes. The following indicators of the diabetes surveillance represent some contextual factors for adults as well as children and adolescents.
